Sri Lanka: The Golden & Rock Temple

Our Uncle took us to visit the Golden and Rock Temple, also referred to as Dambulla Cave Temple. It
is a World Heritage Site situated in the central part of Sri Lanka and is the largest and best preserved cave temple in the country. It dates back to the first century BC so holds a rich amount of Sri Lankan history.

The only way to the rock temple was to get the stairs, a lot of stairs.

The view to the top was great but we were definitely happy to arrive.

After exploring as much as we could, we made our way back down so that we could visit Sigiriya.
